Patrick M. Rooney

Patrick M. Rooney, 78, of South Williamsport passed away on Wednesday, October 8, 2025 at home. Patrick and his wife the former Lezlie Burrows were married on January 1, 1985 and celebrated 40 years together.

Patrick was born on July 29, 1947 in St. Marys and was the son of John J. Rooney, Sr and Mary Estelle Whiting Rooney.

He was a construction worker and a welder for J. B. Gibbons retiring 2005.

Pat was a member and trustee of Moose Lodge 145, South Williamsport, American Legion Post 617, Williamsport, Jersey Shore Elks 1057, Sons of Italy, and volunteered with Meals on Wheels. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, especially with the 911 ride, along with hunting and fishing.

Besides his wife, Lezlie, Patrick is survived by four children, Ryan (Alycia) Rooney, Montoursville, Brett Rooney, Mineral Springs, Lori Ann Rooney, Renovo, Jody (Steve) Jones, Lock Haven; a sister Ella Barkley, Loyalsock; and several nieces and nephews: Tom (Lainey) Rooney, John Joesph Rooney 2nd (Little Jack), Vaughn (Nancy) Barkley, Carrie (Frank) DeMarte, Sean (Christy) Barkley.; two grandchildren, Michael Wright, and Peyton Jones; three great grandchildren, Everleigh Rooney, Natalee Rooney, and Reese Rooney. He was predeceased by a brother, John Joseph Rooney Jr.; a grandson, Seth Lohman.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later time.

Family will provide flowers and suggests memorial contributions in Patrick’s name be made Moose Lodge 145, Children’s Fund, 1219 W. Southern Ave., South Williamsport, PA 17702.
