Paul Chester Boyer, aka Chet, Goob and Papa, 85, passed away peacefully at Excelcare in Lewes, Del., on Tuesday, Oct. 7, 2025.
Paul was born in Muncy Valley, to the late Paul F. and Kattie P. (Puderbaugh) Boyer.
He retired from the State of Delaware Department of Health and Social Services, where he had worked for many years in IT Administration.
Paul enjoyed a good baseball game and was a huge New York Yankees fan. He loved being outdoors, especially fishing, crabbing and sailing.
Paul also loved a good meal! One of his favorites was a hot dog with raw onions and a Pepsi.
In addition to his parents, Paul is preceded in death by his wife, Gloria (Gilbert) Boyer in 2017.
Paul is survived by two children, Beth Ann Glasstetter (Dan) and Peter A. Boyer (Kelly); and two granddaughters, Katie Boyer and Jody Boyer.
A celebration of life will be held on Oct. 18, 2025, from noon to 2 p.m., at Nicola's restaurant at 17323 Ocean One Plz, Lewes, DE 19958.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to PAWS for People which is a nonprofit organization committed to providing therapeutic visits to any person in the community who would benefit from interaction with a well-trained, loving pet.
