Shannon Louise (Letterman/Barrett) Simmons

Shannon Louise (Letterman/Barrett) Simmons, 55, of South Williamsport, passed away at Geisinger Medical Center in Danville, following complications from a cardiac arrest/stroke.
Shannon was born on March 11, 1970, in Williamsport, to Linda (Baker/Letterman) Crosley, and the late Willard C. Letterman. Shannon was a 1988 graduate of Williamsport Area High School. She raised a son, Joshua Barrett, settling in South Williamsport, and recently wed Gary Simmons in June 2024.
Shannon built a lengthy career in retail sales/management, for several local businesses. She had a special rapport with her customers, knowing many by name as they visited her store. She would share stories with own family of her favorite times servicing those loyal patrons.
Shannon most enjoyed family get-togethers: summer picnics, birthdays, and the holidays, with extended family. Time with her family was most precious to Shannon. She was a crafter at heart, always surprising family with special hand-made gifts and mementos, and Shannon was also a passionate pet owner: a loving mom to fur-babies Gizmo, Sapphire, and Ike.
She leaves behind husband, Gary Simmons; son, Joshua Barrett of Williamsport; mother and stepfather, Linda and Tom Crosley of Williamsport; stepmother, Patricia (Kline) Letterman, of Lock Haven; and brother and sister-in-law, Scott and Melissa (Hartley) Letterman. Also surviving are two stepsons, Scott Barrett, Jr., and Jeffery Barrett; and stepdaughter, Ashanti Simmons.
Shannon chose to be a Gift of Life donor, to help others in need.
In keeping with Shannon and her family’s wishes, no services are planned, following cremation entrusted to Maneval Allen Redmond Cremation and Funeral Home, Williamsport. To leave a condolence or remembrance of Shannon for her family, please visit www.jamesmaneval.com.
