Carl “Gus” E. Hall Sr.

Carl “Gus” E. Hall Sr., 87, of Montoursville, died Friday, Nov. 14, 2025, at WeCare at Loyalsock. Born May 22, 1938 in Williamsport, he was the son of John Hall and Mary (Gehret) Hall.

Gus enjoyed hunting, shooting, the outdoors and reloading in his spare time. He could often be found telling hunting stories of years past. Gus belonged to several hunting clubs throughout his lifetime and was a member of the Fox Hunters Association, Beagle Club, and the American Rifle Association.

Gus attended the Montoursville Area High School. In 10th grade, he served as Class Vice-President in 1955. He was #72 on the football team and played right tackle.

He retired from PennDOT in 2000 as an equipment operator. Later in life, he enjoyed visits from his grandchildren. He admired their singing abilities.

Carl is survived by sons, Carl E. Hall Jr. and Michael E. Hall, both of Montoursville; daughter, Shelly A. Hall-Albawab, of Williamsport; brothers, Robert Hall, of Allentown, Charles Hall, Port Orchard, Wash., three grandchildren; and by the mother of his children, Pricilla Grugan-Hall.

In addition to his parents, Carl was preceded in death by brothers, John, and Bill Hall.

Memorial services will be held noon Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Fairfield United Methodist Church 833 Fairfield Church Rd., Montoursville, with Rev. Michael A. Hill officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.

The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Fairfield United Methodist Church, 45 Rt 864 Hwy., Montoursville, PA 17754.
