Doug R. Valiquette
Doug R. Valiquette, 74, of Muncy, died Monday, Nov. 24, 2025, at Geisinger Medical Center-Muncy.
Born Sept. 4, 1951, in Medina, N.Y., he was a son of the late Harry Valiquette Sr. and Estherbelle (McCoy) Valiquette.
Doug was a true outdoorsman who found his greatest joy in spending time outside, especially hunting or fishing. He also had an impressive collection of clocks and was in the process of learning to restore them, collecting many books on the subject.
A lifelong animal lover, Doug adored the many dogs and cats who shared his home over the years, including his current cat, Boots.
Though he held various jobs throughout his life, Doug’s favorite was working as a driver for the Amish community. He was always willing to lend a helping hand, and the miles he traveled led to cherished friendships that lasted for years.
He will be remembered as a happy, loving presence who brightened the lives of those around him — a devoted brother, uncle and friend.
Surviving are three siblings, Harry (Norma) Valiquette Jr., of Watsontown, Sharon (Mark) Byers, of Montgomery, and Holly (Dale) Fry, of Muncy; five nieces, Lacey Cavanagh, Jennifer Barlow, Kelley Valiquette, Amy Hauck and Katrina Badman; and two nephews, Scott and Gary Valiquette.
In addition to his parents, Doug was preceded in death by a sister, Shawnee Valiquette-Hauck; a brother, Timothy Valiquette; and a nephew, Michael Baker.
A Funeral Service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home – Hughesville, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville, Pa., with Rev. Dan Cale officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery. Friends may call from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
