Lawrence P. Stabler, Sr

Lawrence P. Stabler, Sr., 89, of South Williamsport, passed away on Wednesday, November 12, 2025 at home. He and his wife, the late Shirley A. Stabler, were married on October 3, 1954 and shared 65 years together.

Born February 21, 1936 in South Williamsport, he was the son of the late Hiram and Stella Swartz Stabler. He was a former instructor at Williamsport Area Community College and Pennsylvania College of Technology in the auto mechanic department. He served honorably in the United States Air Force from 1954-1963. He was a member of the VFW Post 7863 Duboistown and Korean War Veterans.

Surviving are two sons, Kevin Lee Stabler, of South Williamsport, and Dominic O. Stabler, Sr. of South Williamsport; nine grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. In addition to his late wife, he was also preceded in death by his two daughters, Vicki L. Merrifield, and Disree Christina Stabler; and his son, Lawrence Paul Stabler, Jr.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, November 22, at 11 a.m. at Kaufman Funeral Home, 2102 Northway Road, Williamsport, with Rev. Howard Woodruff officiating. Visitation will be held on Saturday, November 22 from 10 a.m. until the time of service. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery, where Lawrence will be honored with full military honors.
