Raymond (Skip) Clifford Singley September 7, 1935 – October 23, 2025
Raymond (Skip) C. Singley, Jr, born September 7, 1935 in Danville, PA Skip was an avid baseball player. Played in the 1st Little League World Series in August 21-23, 1947. Skip played left field for the Maynard Midget All Star team and they won the World Series championship!!! (see link for more info). Graduated Williamsport High School in 1953, was on the football team and president of student council. Attended Lycoming College 1953-54 (played football for Lycoming) then joined United States Air Force, active duty January 7, 1955 to August 31, 1958. He was a Boom Operator, refueling B52’s and other aircraft while in the air. Finished Lycoming College and graduated in 1960. Teaching career began as a High School Math teacher and head of Math Department at Madison Township High School in NJ. Referee for their football team. Moved to upstate NY in 1967 to work for IBM as a computer programmer. Worked at IBM in various positions for almost 30 years in NY, England, NJ and NC. After retiring and moving to SC, he became a personal fitness trainer and body for life instructor. His passion for fitness got him interested in speed walking and at 65 he participated in the Senior Olympics in Orlando, FL. During this time he also was certified as a yoga instructor combining his passion for teaching with yoga. Loved by everyone he taught!!! He was able to continue until he was 85.
Pre-deceased by wife, Joanna Forte Singley; parents, Raymond C. and Dorothy Singley; sisters, Margaret Shoener, Joan DeKruif and Nancy Resnick. He remarried and is survived by his wife, Joan Bromley Singley; daughter, Dorothy Bowman (Jon); son, Steven Anthony and grandchildren, Anthony Lucarini (Liz), Joshua Lucarini and Dominick Lucarini and triplet great granddaughters, Eden, Esther and Evelynn Lucarini; sister, Marilyn Bollengier; sister-in-law, Vincie (Forte) Coudriet.
