William C. Eisley, Jr., 87, of Cogan Station, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 17, 2025 at home. He and his wife, the former Bonnie L. Whitnack, whom he loved and cared for deeply, were married on December 29, 1956 and shared 68 years together.
William was born on December 20, 1937 in Williamsport to the late William C. Eisley, Sr. and Emily M. Baier Eisley. After graduating from Williamsport Area High School in 1955, William went on to serve his country in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1959 aboard the USS Barry as a cook. William returned to the area and was employed by Stroehmann Bakery for 34 years as a plant manager, retiring in 1992.
William was a member of St. Boniface Catholic Church and the 10 Point Hunting Club, and was a life member of VFW Post 7863 Duboistown and Red Run Rod and Gun Club. He enjoyed hunting, especially hunting trips to Colorado, and fishing in Canada and New York. William was known for his sense of humor and telling jokes. His love of family was evident as he took the time to make daily and weekly calls to his siblings and often made greeting cards for his children. William also looked forward to visits from Tom Engle, who brought Holy Communion to him weekly, and he appreciated time spent with his close friend, Jon Dangle.
In addition to his wife, William is survived by his sons, Barry (Monika) Eisley, Cogan Station, and Mark Eisley, Montoursville; daughters, Cynthia Minteer, State College, Vivian (Rock) Pena, Cogan Station, and Valerie Demmien, Cogan Station; brothers, Russell (Charlotte) Eisley, Jersey Shore, and Joseph Eisley, Williamsport; sisters, Sandra Hornburger, Williamsport, Marsha (Steve) Hess, Hughesville, and Mary Spitler, Williamsport; and a sister-in-law, Deanna Eisley, Williamsport. William had 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.
William was preceded in death by two brothers, Edward Eisley and Robert Eisley; a sister-in-law, Carol Eisley; and a brother-in-law, Orin Hornburger.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, November 25, 2025 at St. Lawrence Catholic Church, 800 W. Central Avenue, South Williamsport, at 10:30 a.m.. Visitation will be held at 10 a.m. until the time of service. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a contribution to the Disabled American Veterans, P.O. Box 14301, Cincinnati, OH 45250-0301, or the Hepburn Township Volunteer Fire Company, 615 PA-973, Cogan Station, PA 17728, in William's name.
