Ann Marie Dorin
Ann Marie Dorin, 86, a loving and kind woman known for her friendly nature, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 20, 2025 at her home in Montoursville surrounded by her husband and daughters.
Born on October 22, 1939, in Old Forge, PA, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Sophie N. (Selwocki) Marciniak.
Ann Marie was a proud graduate of Old Forge High School.
On Sept. 3, 1960, Ann Marie married the love of her life, John Dorin, and together they built a beautiful life and family. They were blessed with three children, Cynthia Layton (Brent), Michelle Dorin (Todd Butters), and James J. Dorin, who sadly predeceased her. This past year, John and Ann celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
A devoted member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, Ann Marie’s faith was an integral part of her life which she instilled upon her children. She was a member of both the church choir and Altar and Rosary Society and served as a bingo co-chairperson as well as the parish secretary.
She loved playing solitaire and bingo, taking bus trips with John to the casinos, doing puzzles and watching her children and grandson participate in sporting events. She was a member of the Montoursville Garden Club, General John Burrows Historical Society and a supporter of the Konkle Library in Montoursville.
Above all, Ann Marie cherished the time spent with her family. Her love for her husband, children, and grandson, Nicholas Layton, knew no bounds, and she took great pride in their accomplishments and successes. She was a constant source of support and encouragement, always ready to lend a listening ear or a helping hand.
In addition to her husband, children, and grandson, Ann Marie is survived by her sister, Jean Turowski; sister-in-law, Betsy Marciniak; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and friends who will dearly miss her warm smile and gentle presence.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Sophie Marciniak; son, James J. Dorin; brother, Walter Marciniak; and brother-in-law, Stanley Turowski.
The family would like to thank all the wonderful caregivers who helped Ann over the years and to the UMPC Hospice team for all their support and compassionate care not only for Ann Marie, but her entire family.
