Carol A. Fishel

Carol A. Fishel, 74, of Muncy, died Wednesday, December 24, 2025, at her residence in Muncy surrounded by her family.

Born December 5, 1951, in DuBois, she was a daughter of the late William Patton and Ella (Shaffer) Ralston. She and her spouse David of 51 years shared a wonderful life.

Carol was a 1973 graduate of Penn State University where she received her bachelor’s degree in nursing. She was employed at Muncy Valley Skilled Nursing Unit as a Supervisory Nurse. She also worked at St. Mary’s Hospital, Newtown, PA, where she was a registered nurse in the intensive care and cardiac care units, and at Maple Manor Hospital, DuBois as an RN in geriatrics.

She was an active member of Moreland Baptist Church where she was an Awana advisor, Sunday school teacher, on the Mission Committee, a vacation bible schoolteacher, a Diaconate, and a junior church instructor. Carol was a member of the American Baptist Women and served as a mission advocate with the Northumberland Baptist Association of PA & Delaware, American Baptist Church’s USA.

Carol made medical mission trips to Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. She enjoyed traveling in the US, Canada, Vancouver, Prague, Haiti, and the Dominican Republic. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, daycare of nursery children, seashell collecting, and TURTLES. Carol was especially fond of using the “Thank You Oath”.

Surviving in addition to her husband David Fishel are two daughters, Laura Elizabeth (Daniel) Wyman of Bloomsburg, and Janelle Kathryn (Benjamin) Kapp of Benton; two sons, Kenneth Samuel Fishel of Turbotville, and Dean Adam (Sarah) Fishel of Tyrone; and six grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by a brother, Robert James Ralston.

A memorial service will be at 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 17, 2026, at Moreland Baptist Church, 118 Moreland Baptist Road, Muncy, PA, 17756, with her Pastor David Guenin officiating. A visitation will be held one hour prior to the memorial service at the church.
