Charles William Lomas, Jr.

Charles William Lomas, Jr., 99, of Trout Run, passed away, Thursday, November 27, 2025 at home. Surviving is his loving wife of 46 years, Elizabeth (Keen) Lomas.

Born March 21, 1926 in Bridgeport, CT, he was a son of the late Charles W. and Bertha Blanche (Staples) Lomas.

Charles was a proud veteran of the United States Navy, faithfully serving his country during World War II. Charlie was a member of the VFW and American Legion. Before moving to Pennsylvania, Charlie and Betty owned and operated a well known antique shop, “Betty’s Oak Mill”, in Haddon Heights New Jersey. He loved antiques and had a keen eye for turning something old into a refinished collectors item for your home.

A lifelong aviation enthusiast, he found his greatest joy in the sky, especially flying his beloved Piper Cub. He and his wife, Betty, spent countless weekends traveling in their plane, cherishing every adventure and especially the fly-in breakfasts they loved so dearly. Charles had a deep love for animals, treasured the friendships he made throughout his life, and enjoyed nothing more than meeting up with friends for dinner, dancing, or simply sharing good company. He embraced life fully and graciously, known to all as a great man who was respectful, kind, and steadfast.

For many years, he and his wife were foster parents, who enjoyed spending time with all of the great children they had. His spirit, warmth, and love for life leave a lasting legacy in the hearts of all who knew him.

He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife, his daughters and son, Betsy, Pat, and Richard, grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sisters, Jill Kurmay and Joan Burns.

In keeping with his wishes, there will be no services.
