Emily C. Biichle

Emily C. Biichle, 98, of Williamsport, passed away Saturday, December 6, 2025, at The Williamsport Home.

Born April 7, 1927, in Williamsport, she was a daughter of William and Carrie (Bordinger) Biichle.

Emily graduated from Williamsport High School in 1945 and attended Dickerson Jr. College, now the Lycoming College, where she graduated in 1957. After graduation, she worked for the college and became the Coordinator of Facilities, a position she held for 40 plus years before retiring. She truly became a part of the college throughout the years; she played a special part in all the veterans’ lives who attended the college and helped establish the current buildings we know today. She was a living Lycoming College historian who could share many great stories about the college. While working, she had made many great friends, especially Dale Bower and Kenneth Himes, former Treasurer of Lycoming College. Outside of work she had a great love for collecting figurines, Knick Knacks, cardinals, and lighthouses. She loved to volunteer for the Williamsport Community Concerts and watching Ballet Dance Concerts, as well as Broadway shows.

She is survived by a close family member, Luther (Amy Buck) Stroup; and a close friend, Paul (Twila) Leichty.

Emily was preceded in death by her parents, William and Carrie Biichle.

Graveside Service will be held 10:30 a.m. Monday, December 15, 2025, at Montoursville Cemetery, 1401 Broad St., Montoursville, with Luther Stroup and Paul Leichty officiating.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
