H. Scott Forney

H. Scott Forney of Red Lion was called home to Heaven on December 19, 2025. Scott was born January 9, 1948 to Harvey S. Forney and Ruth Lunt Forney in Williamsport, PA.

After attending Williamsport Area High School, Scott enlisted in the US Army, serving 4 years active duty and 6 years in the Reserves. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War. His military experience led to a career in law enforcement with the Federal Protective Service and the US Border Patrol. He then worked in sales and management in the refuse/recycling industry before owning his own business in Lancaster County.

Scott is survived by his wife, Karen, nee Knowlton; daughter, Carrie Forney Ingalla (Sean Siebert) of Dover; son, Ryan Forney of Yuma, AZ, and son, John Forney (Jessie) of West York; grandchildren, Brooke Ingalla of Yuma, AZ, Maddie Forney and Eddie Nordsick of West York, and Nick Perez of Pittsburgh. He is also survived by an uncle, Larry Lunt, of Alexandria, VA, and sister-in-law, Darlene Forney of Narvon. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Anne Henry and Gwen Stockwell-Rushton, brother David Forney, and grandson Nash Ingalla.

Scott entrusted John W. Keffer Funeral Home with his arrangements. Interment will be at St. Michael’s Lutheran Cemetery, Quiggleville, Lycoming County, PA.
