Jean L. Shink

Jean L. Shink, 84, of Cogan Station, loving mother, grandmother, and sister, passed away Saturday, December 13, 2025, the same day as her wedding anniversary to her late husband, Harold V. Shink.

Born on May 17, 1941, in Williamsport, she was the only daughter of the late John D. and Dorothy (Wilson) Forsburg. Jean’s journey was marked by warmth, devotion, and a nurturing spirit that touched the lives of all who knew her.

Along with her parents and husband, Jean was also preceded in death by her brothers John and Willard Forsburg. Her legacy of love lives on through her children Edwin “Ed” W. Shink, Wendy L. Whipple (Joseph Hill), Clara A. Shink, and Kimberly E. Robinson who was married to the late Warren P. Robinson. She also leaves behind five grandchildren, Matthew P. Shipton (Donna), Jessica L. Dutter (John), Kiera W. Lonon (Joseph), Sylvia A. Robinson, and Warren R. Robinson (Rachel Heggenstaller); ten great-grandchildren and one great great-grandchild, all whom she immensely cherished and her brother Nelson Forsburg (Debra).

An alumna of Williamsport Area High School, Jean’s caring nature found expression through her work as a dedicated homemaker, tending to the church nursery, and babysitting. Her commitment to nurturing others extended beyond her immediate family and had a lasting impact on countless individuals.

Jean’s life was rich with interests that reflected her energetic and social spirit. As an active member of the Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, she found joy and purpose. Her love for cats, enjoying friendly games of Bingo, and staying connected with friends and family through Facebook brought laughter and cheer to her daily routine.

Jean’s family will hold a memorial service to honor her life on Monday, December 22, 2025, at 1p.m. at Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, 656 W. Creek Rd., Cogan Station.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Jean’s name to A Children’s Miracle Network Hospital. Checks may be made to the Geisinger Health Foundation, memo line CMN-MC 40-36, 100 N. Academy Ave., Danville, PA 17822.
