JoAnn R. Wright
JoAnn R. Wright, a lifelong beacon of warmth and compassion, gained her angel wings for Christmas, on December 27, 2025, at her home in Williamsport, leaving behind a legacy of love and care that touched everyone she knew. Born on June 21, 1941, in Montoursville, she was a daughter of the late Laurence Dalton and Ruth Helen (Lorson) Fink. JoAnn’s life was a testament to the strength and resilience of her spirit. She was the devoted and loving wife of the late Kenneth O. Wright, who preceded her in death on August 29, 2024.
JoAnn attended Montoursville High School, and she took on the world with a rare blend of tenderness and vigor. Her Christian faith was a guiding star in her life, providing her with the foundation on which she built her values and instilled them in those around her.
JoAnn’s heart was a wellspring of love that flowed into every aspect of her life, and nothing brought her more joy than her family. She was a remarkable mother to her children, Evalyn J. Sitler (Bryon), Tom Wright, Mark Wright (Michelle), Jim Wright, Steve Wright (Karen), and Candace Lukens (Joel). She was an amazing grandmother to Aidan Sitler, Raelyn Sitler, Megan Wright, Avery Wright, Brandon Wright, Sarah Haynie (Kenny), Jason Wright (Trisha), Kristen Wright-Weaver (Chad), Laura Lukens, Hailey Lukens, and Logan Lukens, and six great-grandchildren, Ariana and Maverick Matson, Kylar, Riley, and Logan Haynie, and Xander Wright, all holding a special place in her heart. JoAnn also enjoyed the memories made with her siblings, Jean Crawford, Carol Gamble, Donna Chapman, and Janice Hornberger, and held dear to heart, Laurence “Buddy” Fink and sister Joyce Way, who both passed away before her.
Beyond her family, JoAnn’s care extended to countless foster children whom she loved and nurtured as if they were her own. Her dedication to the well-being of these children showcased her incredible capacity for empathy and charity.
