Dorothy Hunter Welsh
Dorothy Hunter Welsh of Mansfield, PA, passed away on January 20th, 2026. Dotty served in the Holy Child church, active in church health ministry, and a member of the Ladies Guild. She was a staunch pro-life advocate, doting grandmother. Born in Brackenridge, PA, she graduated from Penn State in 1966, marrying her husband Joseph in 1967. After traveling the world as a Marine Corps wife for 20+ years, Dotty and Joe settled in Mansfield to live the good life…farming. She enjoyed life, held her principles firmly, loved her people deeply, and could re-purpose anything.
Dotty is survived by her husband, Joe; their two sons, Matthew (wife Penny) and Brian (wife Valerie); four grandchildren, Kylie (husband Patrick), Grace (husband David), Benjamin and Rose; great-grandson, Hunter; and a sister. She was preceded in death by her brother George.
Visitation will be held at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA, on Friday, January 30, 2026, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m., with funeral mass at 11 a.m. at Holy Child Catholic Church 242 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. Private burial will be in the Pittsburgh area at a later date. Memorial contributions can be made to the White Heart Foundation (www.whiteheart.org)
