Susan L. Rook (Sue)

Susan L Rook (Sue) of Williamsport PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, January 10, 2026 surrounded by family. She was born on September, 8, 1938 to the late Gregory and Elouise (Bubb) Beck.

Sue graduated from Williamsport High School the class of 1957 and was a long-time resident of the Williamsport area.

Sue’s work experience started at Tetley Tea in the packaging department before moving to the front office to assume administrative duties. Making a career change she accepted a managerial position at the Andon Nursing Home. One of the extracurricular activities Sue enjoyed while working at Andon Nursing Home were the Day trips with the residents to local amusement parks. The annual activity was to participate in the Mummers parade, with some of the nursing home residents sitting on a float throwing candy to the children watching the parade. Sue’s final career move was working in the Personnel Department as the benefit coordinator at Divine Providence Hospital where she eventually retired.

During Moms retirement she assisted families with support by performing household duties for their elderly and sick family members.

Throughout her years Mom would fondly recall working at the Capital Theater as a teenager with her many cousins and friends.

Above all else, she took pride in cooking for her family and hosting holiday parties.

Surviving Sue is a daughter, Julia M. Clees (Bill) of Plunkett’s Creek Pa; three sons, Chris Rook (Linda)of Bluffton Sc, Randy Rook (Tammy) of Plunkett’s Creek Pa, and Matt Rook (Karen Spooner) of Spanish Fort, AL.; a sister, Noreen Shifflet (Joe), of Williamsville NY; a brother, Hobart J. Beck of Williamsport; 12 Grandchildren and 19 Great Grandchildren.

Sue is preceded in death by her parents, Gregory and Elouise (Bubb) Beck; husband, Matthew M. Rook; a sister, Joan (Beck) Ramin; brothers, Greg and Micheal Beck and brother-in-law, Ed Ramin.

The family requests that all donations be made to the Valley View Rehab and Nursing Center c/o Recreation Department, 2140 Warrensville Rd, Montoursville, PA 17754.

Future services will be held at the convenience of the family with interment in Montoursville Cemetery.
