Alan S. Garrison

Alan S. Garrison, age 71, of Mansfield, PA, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 25, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 29, 1954, in Scranton, PA, the son of Clarence and Lois (Wyandt) Garrison. Alan graduated from Scranton Technical High School in 1973, then relocated his young family to Mansfield in 1979 where he resided until his death. He was an Assistant County Manager for PennDOT for 30 years, before retiring in 2013.

Alan’s greatest joy in life was his family. He is survived by four children, Kimberlee (Richard) VanGorden of Crofton, MD, Brian Garrison of Mansfield, PA, Leah (Taylor) Parsons of Mansfield, PA, and Cody (Jessica) Garrison of Danville, PA; ten grandchildren, Madeline VanGorden, Benjamin VanGorden, Samuel VanGorden, Gabby Parsons, Gatlin Parsons, Evelyn Mulrine, Lillian Mulrine, Grant Garrison, Gavin Garrison, and Sophia Garrison; and his sister, Carol (Robert) Sanford of Riverview, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Gary Garrison and Robert Garrison.

Family and friends are invited to call from 1 to 2 p.m. on Sunday, March 1, 2026, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 S. Main St., Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will immediately follow at 2 p.m. with Pastor Patrick Parsons officiating. A private burial will take place in Oakwood Cemetery in Mansfield.
