Mary Elizabeth (Beckner) Hutchinson

Mary Hutchison died February 21, 2026, after an illness. She was born in Williamsport on October 22, 1935, the daughter of Furman Beckner and Katherine Beckner Douglas.

She is survived by her loving husband, William Hutchison; three offspring, Michael (Debbie) Hutchison, Thomas Hutchison, and Susan Hutchison Tassin, as well as two beloved grandchildren, Jay and Joseph.

Mary graduated from Williamsport High School in 1953, and trained as a registered nurse at the Williamsport Hospital. She worked as an administrator at Leader Nursing Center, as well as an office nurse for several family physicians. She often talked about how much she loved being a nurse and making people feel better. She was a dedicated, loving wife to William, as well as a devoted mother and grandmother. She loved helping people, and volunteered for Meals on Wheels, and in the school system, reading to young children. She will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
