Shannon K. Barton

It is with deep sorrow and heavy hearts that we announce that Shannon K. Barton of South Williamsport, 54 entered into eternal peace on February 14th, 2026.

Born January 26, 1972, she graduated from Montgomery Jr/Sr High school.

Shannon was young at heart, full of life, and carried a light that brightened every room she entered. Her kindness was effortless and genuine — the kind that made people feel seen, valued, and loved. She had a warm smile, a generous spirit, and an energy that reminded everyone to embrace joy in the everyday moments.

Shannon built a legacy of love that will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Of all the roles she cherished, being a Nonna was among her greatest joys. Her grandchildren were the light of her life and the center of her heart. Her love for her grandchildren was boundless.

Shannon’s memory will forever be cherished by her family, friends, and all whose lives were touched by her warmth and generosity. While words cannot ease the pain of her absence, we find comfort in knowing that her love endures and her spirit remains with us.

She is survived by her husband of 12 years, Thomas Barton; mother, Debra Shaffer; her children, Zachary (Samantha) Sauers, Kazzerina (James) Appleman, Keanu (Michala) Sauers, Kaleb Barton, and Maeson Barton; her siblings, Monica (Dan) Lozano, Stacy (Gary) Sheatler, and Rickey (Jayme) Hill; step-sisters, Michelle (Charlie) Bailey, Bobbi Jo (Joe) Fry; maternal grandparents, Charles (Norma) Koch; grandchildren, Isabella Sauers, Mazeryn, Malcolm and Magdaleine Appleman, Luka and Ezra Sauers; sister-in-law Tiffany (James) Saylor; mother and father-in-law, Christy and Cecil Teague; 13 nieces and nephews, 2 great nieces and nephews plus a great nephew on the way; 11 aunts and uncles and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her stepfather, Paul Shaffer and her maternal grandparents, Barbara and Howard Koch.

A celebration of Shannon’s life will be held at a later date.
