Theodore Stanley Rebe
Theodore Stanley Rebe, 78, of Jersey Shore, PA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at Geisinger Lewistown, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Rome, New York, he was the son of the late Theodore W. Rebe and Sarah A. Rebe. Affectionately known as “Teddy” to those who loved him, he will be remembered for his steadfast kindness, humor, and quiet strength.
Ted was a 1965 graduate of West Leyden High School. That same year, on July 29, he proudly enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving as an aircraft maintenance technician during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge. His dedication, skill, and sense of responsibility defined both his military and civilian life.
On October 13, 1973, Ted married the love of his life, Shirley M. Fox, in Catawissa, Pennsylvania. Together, they shared 52 years of marriage, building a life grounded in devotion, laughter, and unwavering partnership. Ted worked for many years as an aircraft maintenance technician, servicing both large and small engines, a career perfectly suited to his lifelong curiosity about how things work. Retirement at age 62 did not slow him down; he was a gifted woodworker, builder and flyer of model airplanes, and the proud creator of a 1950s street rod.
Ted was the family’s go-to fixer, always ready to lend his skill to vehicles, computers, bikes, or household projects. He also found joy in fly fishing and in the kitchen, where his French toast and gravy biscuits became cherished family traditions.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Shirley; his daughters and their families: step- daughter, Tammy Otter (husband Greg) and children Alissa (fiancÈ Markus) and Seth; daughter, Heather Seitzer (husband George) and children Johanna (husband Alex; great grandchildren, James, Lincoln, Everleigh), Caleb (significant other Zoey), Micah, Malachi (wife Devon; great grandson), Jacob (wife Rebecca), Natalie (husband Zachariah; great grandson Zachary), Nathan, step-grandchildren Nevin, Adelayde, and Bennett; and daughter Erica Rebe and children Aidan, Jalen (husband Samuel), and Taylor.
Ted’s legacy lives on through the countless lives he touched with his patience, generosity, and willingness to help. He will be remembered as a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, proud veteran, and a man who made the world around him better simply by caring for it.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, February 16, 2026, at Frederick B. Welker Funeral Home, 125 N. Main Street, Jersey Shore, PA 17740, with Pastor Matt Holcomb officiating.
