Christopher Robert Leidhecker
Christopher Robert Leidhecker, 36, of Nashville, Tennessee, formerly of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, passed away on March 4, 2026, after a brief but courageous battle with an aggressive cancer. The kindness, love, and sense of gratitude with which Chris lived his life was always present to all who knew and loved him. He was born on August 26,1989, to his loving parents, Bob and Aegina Leidhecker.
He is survived by his parents; his beloved wife of 13 years, Corinne Leidhecker of Nashville; and his brother, Jeremy (Kelly), of Malaga, Spain.
Born into a musical family, Chris followed in his father’s footsteps, taking to the drums as a toddler. A musical foundation that began at home grew into a lifelong pursuit of music. A 2008 graduate of Loyalsock Township High School, Chris was an exceptional student who enjoyed soccer and studied piano, drums, and trombone. During high school, he attended the Uptown Music Collective, where his talents as a drummer flourished through numerous performances. He also played with the Williamsport Youth Symphony Orchestra and earned state-level recognition through PMEA festivals. In 2012, he graduated from Indiana University of Pennsylvania with a degree in Music Education.
While Chris loved playing drums, his talents extended to composing, arranging, and recording engineering. He published numerous works for percussion ensemble that were performed at the collegiate level. Frequently collaborating with his brother Jeremy, together they arranged more than 30 marching band shows. Chris also wrote music for advertising and licensing, with clients including MTV, Bravo, ABC, CBS, and Discovery. In Nashville, he built a recording studio that became a creative home for artists, where he recorded and produced music in close collaboration with others. It was also the birthplace of his passion project, Spirisow, centered on ambient piano-based composition. He was deeply beloved in the Nashville music community by the hundreds of people he befriended through his work. In an industry that can often feel transactional, Chris saw others as people first, making them feel valued, seen, and cared for. To this community, his kindness and generosity will be greatly missed, and his absence is already shaping the way others extend that same care to one another.
Chris grew up attending Bethel-Linden Presbyterian Church in Williamsport, where his parents remain members. Over the years, Chris shared his musical gifts there alongside his family in numerous musical settings. It was in 2017 that Chris was blessed with the opportunity to take those talents to the world stage when he began touring with Michael W. Smith on the Revolution Tour. Chris immediately found a home with Michael, the band, and the crew. Over eight years, he gained not only extraordinary musical experiences but also lifelong friendships and a deepening of his faith. In March 2024, Michael W. Smith and band performed at the Williamsport Community Arts Center providing an opportunity for Chris to play in his hometown. Chris has recorded several albums with Michael W. Smith, including one yet to be released.
Chris married the love of his life, Corinne, in 2012, and above all, he treasured their life together and was deeply devoted to her. She was the center of his world, and the life they built together was his greatest joy. He was selfless, genuine, humble, intelligent, and witty, and those closest to him saw those qualities most clearly in the way he loved Corinne and the people around him. He loved visiting his brother in Europe, spending time with family, making pizza, enjoying good coffee, and traveling. Chris made it a priority to show up for others and ensure those in his life felt deeply loved. That love remains his greatest legacy.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Sunday, March 15, in Nashville, in a natural setting on the farm property of Michael W. Smith. His parents extend their heartfelt appreciation to family, friends, and the community for their unwavering love and support during these difficult months and time of deep loss. They will receive visitors at a casual open house on Saturday, April 11, from 2 to 5 p.m. at DiSalvo’s Restaurant, 341 East Fourth Street, Williamsport. Light refreshments will be provided.
Memorial contributions in Christopher’s name may be made to People Loving Nashville, P.O. Box 60431, Nashville, TN 37206, and/or Bethel-Linden Presbyterian Church, 2758 Bottle Run Road, Williamsport, PA 17701.
