Dona Ayers

Dona Ayers, 69, of Montoursville, died Saturday, March 14, 2026, at the Gatehouse surrounded by her entire family.

Born December 21, 1956, in El Paso, Texas she was the daughter of the late Donald and Geraldine (Penzera) Stahlnecker.

Surviving is her husband, Daniel Ayers of Montoursville; her daughter, Sarah (Tyler) Schramm of Loyalsock, and her son, Matthew Ayers of Charlotte, North Carolina. She is survived by her sister, Leigh Ann (Stanley) Gahring; two brothers, Kenneth (Lita) Stahlnecker and Scott (Teresa) Stahlnecker along with five nieces and nephews.

Dona had a love for traveling and spending time at the beach. She and her husband would take yearly trips to Myrtle Beach where she would sit by the ocean, and her husband would golf. She enjoyed walking along the coast while looking for shells. She also loved planting flowers in her backyard gardens. Every spring, she filled it with vibrant blooms for everyone to enjoy.

Dona had a deep passion for cooking and found great joy in hosting friends and family during holidays and life’s special occasions.

Dona worked for Susquehanna Cardiology as an office manager and then later worked for Lecce Electric as their office secretary as well as a caretaker for Caring for You.

The family is planning a mass to be held in her memory at 11 a.m. Monday, April 27, 2026, at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Montoursville.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
