Elsie M. Eck

Elsie M. Eck, 91, of Trout Run, died Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence. Born October 16, 1934, in Montoursville, she was the daughter of Leonard W. Karschner and Margaret M. (Harris) Karschner. Elsie was a 1953 graduate of Montoursville High School where she met her husband. Elsie married Robert E. Eck on November 12, 1955 and shared 67 years of marriage prior to his passing on December 11, 2022.

Elsie and Bob shared a wonderful life on the farm with their kids and animals. Elsie was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who enjoyed working in her flower beds, lilacs, growing vegetable gardens, painting, crafting, cooking, and collecting antiques. Most of all she enjoyed family gatherings, friends, puzzles, and playing games. Elsie was always welcoming to all.

Elsie is survived by sons, David M. Eck, Wayne R. (Rachel) Eck, both of Trout Run; daughters, Karen E. Marden, of Newport, Laurie A. Eck, of Williamsport; grandson, James Owen Eck; granddaughter, Hannah Eck; sister, Verna (Dave) Horn, of Montoursville; brothers, Donald (Esther) Karschner, Glen (Mabel) Karschner, both of Montoursville.

In addition to her parents, Elsie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert E. Eck; sisters, Gertrude Hunter, Doris Irene Niklaus, Esther Miller; brothers, Calvin, and Robert Karschner.

Services will be private and held at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty Thomas Funeral Home, Montoursville.
