Helen N. Yorke

Our mother, Helen N. Yorke, passed away March 26, 2026 at the age of 83.

Born on April 6, 1942, she was raised in the Bronx but chose to raise her own family in Park Ridge, New Jersey.

She worked at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company for over 30 years as an Administrator and then eventually as a supervisor of her division.

Helen will be remembered by a single quote, “My last name is Yorke with an ‘e’, which means excellence in everything I do.”

She is survived by her two daughters, Denise Taylor (Scott), of Williamsport, and Lisa Palacios, of Suffern, NY; two granddaughters, Heather Marshall, of Miami, FL, and Brittany Smith, of Pine Bush, NY; four step-grandchildren, Joseph, Lauren, Lindsey, and Julia Taylor.

She was preceded in death by her six siblings, Peter, George, Dora, Pauline, Ruby, and Christine; as well as her parents, Harry and Mary (Neckles) Moundas.

A funeral service to honor Helen’s life will be held 6:30 p.m., Tuesday, April 7 at Sanders Mortuary, 821 Diamond St, Williamsport. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. until the time of service, Tuesday, at Sanders.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Helen’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association, Greater PA Chapter, 2595 Interstate Drive, Harrisburg, PA 17110.
