Jack D. Stewart, Sr., 91, of Lewisburg, PA, passed away on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at We Care at Sycamore in Montoursville.
Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, on April 9, 1934, he was the son of the late Harry and Thelma (DeMar) Stewart. Jack was a 1952 graduate of Withrow High School. He started his career as an apprentice machinist with Cincinnati Milling. In 1955, he married Judith M. Stewart who preceded him in death on September 25, 2025. Together they celebrated 70 years of marriage. As a member of the Sports Car Club of America in the 50s and 60s, Jack built and raced his own sports car, the DeMar Mark II special ("The Special").
Before opening his specialty machine design and custom build shop in Doylestown, PA, he worked as a specialty machinist and engineer for the aerospace industry. His work included designing component parts for the Apollo missions. After running his own businesses, Stewart Enterprises and Stewart Ergonomics, for 45 years, he and Judy retired to Lewisburg.
Jack is remembered for his enjoyment of sharing time with friends and family, cooking, eating out, taking scenic country drives, and his quick dry wit.
He is survived by a son, Jack D. Stewart Jr. and his wife Carol Jo of Dunnellon, FL; a daughter, Cynthia A. Malriat and her husband Steven of Lewisburg; two grandsons, Jonathan D. Malriat and his wife Mary, and Daniel C. Malriat, a great-grandson, Edward O. Malriat, son of Jonathan and Mary; a sister, Sandra Sloane of Florida; and an eggnog recipe that will be passed onto future generations.
A Celebration of Life for Jack & Judy will be held in Lewisburg, PA on April 9, 2026 at Evertrue Buffalo Valley Retirement Village Commons from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Burial & graveside service for both will be at Spring Grove Cemetery, Cincinnati, on Saturday June 13, 2026 1 p.m. reception following.
