She was born in Jersey Shore on August 3, 1945, a daughter to the late Jake and Joan Marguerite (Sullivan) Drugatz.

Joan was known for her quiet strength, warmth, smile, and extraordinary empathy for all. While living in Pennsylvania and during their years in Florida, she never considered anyone a stranger and would often go out of her way to extend prayers, support, and love in any way she could. She was an exemplary model of the Catholic faith and made that the foundation of her entire life. Her constant prayers were focused on bringing others back to the peace and joy she experienced within her faith. Those of us who are still on our journey will remember her fondness for sunsets, cardinals, angels, and all of God’s beautiful creation.

She and her husband, John F. “Jack” Gerrity married on October 5, 1968 and together celebrated over 57 years of marriage.
