Linda Ingerick Probst

April 14, 2026 Linda Louise Ingerick Probst, 77, of Avis, Pa., passed away peacefully with family by her side after a long physical battle with Parkinson’s and dementia. On this day, she ascended into the arms of her Lord and Savior and was a prisoner of her earthly body no more. She is now reunited with her loving husband, Charley Probst, who passed away in 2023.

Linda, a twin of her brother Lynn (Carol) Ingerick and older sister to Luanne Goodwin both of Wellsboro, was born on March 10, 1949 to Thomas and Rheta (Austin) Ingerick in Blossburg, Pa. In 1967, she graduated from Wellsboro High School and went on to graduate from Lock Haven State College in 1971, where she earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Health and Physical Education.

She began her teaching career at Salladasburg Elementary School until she decided to stay home and raise her two children, Alan Charles Probst of Bear Creek, Pa. and Sheree (Justin) Forney of Frederick, Md. Her joy of family extended into her role as a grandmother to Rachel Renee Forney, Owen Mark Forney, and Hunter Charles Probst. She found great joy in watching Rachel and Owen play ice hockey and took great pride in watching Hunter on the golf course. The time we shared at Treasure Lake and Little Pine will remain some of our most cherished memories with Grammy.

Linda was a faithful servant who walked with God and talked with Him daily. Whether she was taking care of a family in need, participating in a bible study, leading a mentoring ministry for youth, volunteering at church camps, or sharing her faith with others, her life was a beautiful reflection of her deep love for Jesus. Matthew 22:37 “She loved her Lord with all her heart, soul, mind, and strength.”

A celebration of Linda’s life will be held at Avis United Methodist Church at 215 Prospect Ave. Avis, Pa. on Saturday, April 18, 2026 . Visitation will be from Noon to 1 p.m. and the funeral service will follow from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. Burial will be at the Jersey Shore Cemetery.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Welker Funeral Home. If you would like to make a tribute gift in Linda’s memory, you can donate at secure.parkinson.org.
