Norma Jean Alexander
Norma Jean Alexander, 82, of Montgomery, died Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at her daughter’s home.
Born October 6, 1943, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Norman L. and Ida Mae (Hafer) Getgen. On September 1, 1967, she married Melvin Alexander who predeceased her on December 22, 1993. Together they celebrated nearly 26 years of marriage. Norma Jean later married James H. King who predeceased her May 8, 2023.
Norma Jean was a graduate of Belmont High School in New Hampshire. She worked for Textron Lycoming for 40 years before retiring.
She was very active in the Bower-Decker Post #251 American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, where she served as president.
Norma Jean was an avid bowler and enjoyed music and dancing.
She loved playing bingo and going gambling. Norma Jean also loved the Philadelphia Philles and Elvis Presley.
Surviving are her four children, Brenda Alexander, of New Columbia, Kimberly Alexander, Melvin “Oak” Alexander and his wife, Sondra and Destiny Alexander, all of Montgomery, two grandchildren, Autumn Pulk and her husband, Brandon and River Seese; and three great-grandchildren, Adalynn Lilley, Benjamin Warren and Ainsley Pulk.
The family is planning a graveside service to be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, April 24 in Greenlawn Memorial Park, 62 PA-54, Montgomery, PA 17752.
A celebration of Norma Jean’s life will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 26 at the Bower-Decker Post #251, 185 Broad Street Montgomery, PA 17752.
