Clovis M. Hunter
Clovis M. Hunter, 93, of New Columbia, died Sunday, May 3, 2026, at Evangelical Hospital, Lewisburg.
Born December 3, 1932, in Montgomery, she was a daughter of the late Willard and Blanche (Zellers) Aunkst. She was educated in Montgomery schools and was employed at GTE Sylvania at Muncy and Williamsport. She retired from Sylvania after 44 years of service as a quality inspector. Clovis was a member of the American Legion Post #410 Ladies Auxiliary, Mifflinburg, and a member of the White Deer Faith Chapel, New Columbia. She enjoyed making porcelain dolls and went to many area craft shows. Clovis was a member of the Pennsylvania Guild of Craftsman.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Robert E. Hunter, of New Columbia; two daughters, Sharon (Kay) Lewis, of New Columbia, and Sandra Shoemaker (Jim Moss), of Marietta, GA; three grandchildren, Jim Koser, Lisa Zechman, and Nicole Longenberger; four great grandchildren, Brandon Magruder, Madison Zechman, Chloe Zechman, and Tyler Sokolas.
Clovis was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary and Sarah.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. on Thursday, May 7, 2026 at the White Deer Faith Chapel, 2155 White Deer Pike, New Columbia, PA, 17856, with Rev. Carol Haas, officiating. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park. Friends may call from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church, one hour prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Clovis’s name to the White Deer Faith Chapel at the address above or to the donor’s choice.
