Edna J. Morse

Edna J. Morse, 90, of Williamsport, passed away on Monday, May 4, 2026, at UPMC of Williamsport.

Born on June 29, 1935, in Antes Fort, she was the daughter of the late Samuel L. Confer and Phoebie M. (Tomb) Confer. Edna attended Jersey Shore High School and carried the values of hard work, loyalty, and kindness throughout her life. On September 2, 1953, she married Frank L. Morse, and together they shared many years of love and companionship until his passing on February 5, 2022.

Edna was employed at Wundies for almost 14 years before retiring in October of 1993. She was a member of Saint John’s-Newberry United Methodist Church, and found joy in working jigsaw puzzles, word searches, watching game shows and being the queen of Bingo and cards.

Edna was a devoted mother who cherished her family deeply. She is survived by her sons, Frank L. Morse, Jr. and his wife Pam, and Ray E. Morse; five grandchildren, Matthew, Candi (John), Andrew (Alison), Tyler (Susanne), and Brian (Karyn), nine great-grandchildren, and one great great-grandchild. She also leaves behind a daughter-in-law, Lori Morse; two brothers, Harry W. Confer (Linda) and Dean A. Confer (Lori). Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Jane M. Morse, and her son, Dennis J. Morse; six brothers, Robert K. Confer, Samuel F. Confer, Jack R. Confer, Guy L. Confer, Albert E. Confer, and Ronald J. Confer, three sisters, Dora E. Getchen, Helen I. McFarland, and Edith M. Felmy, and her precious dog Ginger, who recently passed.

Funeral services to honor Edna’s life will be held 11 a.m. Friday, May 8, 2026, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport. Burial will follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park in Montgomery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Friday, May 8, 2026, at the funeral home.
