Myra Lois Evans (nee’ Robbins)

Beloved wife, devoted mother, cherished grandmother (Gram/Grammy), and great-grandmother, Myra Lois Evans (nee’ Robbins) passed away peacefully on May 17, 2026, in Eaton, Ohio, at the age of 86. Born on August 29, 1939, in Sayre, Pennsylvania, Myra was the daughter of her late parents, Bernard and Aldis (McCarty) Robbins, and grew up surrounded by a large and loving family.

Myra graduated from Loyalsock Joint High School in Estella, Pennsylvania. In 1958, she married the love of her life, Robert L. Evans, Jr., beginning a beautiful partnership that spanned nearly 68 years. Together they built a life filled with love, faith, and family.

Myra was a woman of deep faith who loved God with all her heart, soul, and mind. She would tell you that she never remembered not believing in Jesus, and her devotion to her Savior shaped every aspect of her life. She shared her faith with her family through both words and actions, teaching them about Jesus Christ and instilling values that will endure for generations.

A talented and artistic seamstress, Myra delighted in sewing doll clothes and creating custom T-shirts. Her cleverness and creativity extended beyond fabric as well. Known affectionately as the family “card shark,” Myra’s skill at card games brought laughter and friendly competition to countless gatherings.

Myra also found joy in the beauty of nature. She loved camping and hiking with her family and spent many peaceful hours birdwatching and caring for wildlife, even nurturing a few baby birds. These moments outdoors reflected her appreciation for God’s creation and provided cherished memories for those who joined her.

As a mother and grandmother, Myra was deeply loving and endlessly playful. She was an expert whistler and taught old-time songs like “There Once Was a Farmer” and “Bill Grogan’s Goat” to her children and grandchildren-songs that will forever echo in their hearts as reminders of her warmth and joy.

Myra is survived by her devoted husband, Robert L. Evans, Jr.; daughter, Robin L. Sabo (and husband Chris); son, Robert L. Evans (and wife Karen); grandchildren, Aaron Bower, Elisabeth Lefebvre, Rachel Strandquist, Megan Reid, Rebeka Bower, Laura Clapper, Andrew Evans, and Zachary Sabo; fifteen great-grandchildren; siblings, Richard Robbins, Patricia Woodley, Margaret Rosbach, Stanley Robbins, and Janice Mingle; as well as numerous nephews, nieces, and others. She was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Renee L. Evans; great-grandson, Joshua T. Bower; siblings, Bruce Robbins, Dean Robbins, Joyce Robbins; twin sister, Myrna Robbins, and Sandra Gavitt.

May Myra’s memory be a blessing to all who were fortunate enough to share in her remarkable life.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, May 22, 2026, at the Montoursville Cemetery, 1401 Broad Street, Montoursville, PA, with Pastor Chris Santalucia officiating. Come and celebrate a beautiful life with us!
