Shirley A. Forker

Shirley A. Forker, 84, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully with the comfort of her family by her side on Tuesday, May 26, 2026, at Rose View Nursing Center. She was preceded in death by her loving husband of 65 years Robert L. “Bob” Forker, Jr.

Shirley was born on January 1, 1942, in Susquehanna, PA a daughter of the late Fred and Marjorie Belle (Coddington) Edwards.

Shirley graduated from Susquehanna Consolidated school district. On July 15, 1961, she married the love of her life, Bob Forker in Johnson City, NY. Before retirement, she enjoyed working at Plankenhorn’s Stationary for many years. A tough spirited woman, Shirley liked playing cards and shooting the bull, but she also had a kind, serving heart. For many years, she volunteered her time alongside her husband at West End Christian Community Center. She and Bob founded what is now called the Robert and Shirley Forker Welcome Wagon. Her spirited interests included anything involving wolves and collecting dream catchers, stemming primarily from her proud Native American Heritage. Above everything, Shirley loved spending time and devoting her heart to her family.

Shirley is survived by her children three children Robert L. Forker, III (Melissa), Zenon Forker (Gwenda), and Margaret VanSant (Thomas); her closest grandchildren, Blake, Janelle, and Sean, along with nine additional grandchildren and twenty-three great-grandchildren. Along with her husband and parents, Shirley was also preceded in death by her sisters; Geraldine Lamb, Donna Trynoski and Nellie Hammond.

Funeral services to honor Shirley’s life will be held 11 a.m. Monday, June 1, 2026 , at Knight-Confer Funeral Home, 1914 Memorial Ave., Williamsport, with burial to follow at Green Lawn Memorial Park, Montgomery. A viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Monday, June 1, 2026, at Knight-Confer Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Shirley’s name to the Robert and Shirley Forker Welcome Wagon at the West End Christian Community Center, 901 Diamond St., Williamsport, PA 17701.
