United States Air Force Master Sergeant (Retired) Paul R. Blystone

United States Air Force Master Sergeant (Retired) Paul R. Blystone departed on his heavenly Permanent Change of Station (PCS) on May 26, 2026 at Hillside Senior Living. He was 97 years old. A private committal service will be held at a later date at Fort Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, where he will rejoin his beloved wife of 72 years, Marjorie, who preceded him to their new station in May of 2025.

Born on December 19, 1928 in Mifflintown, Pennsylvania, he was the son of Thomas W. and Esther McKinley Lindenberger Blystone.

He is survived by his children, Paul E. Blystone (Becky) of Great Falls, MT, Randall K. Blystone (Kathy) of Herndon, VA, Scott D. Blystone (Lisa) of Marcellus, NY, and Susan M. Shadle (Michael) of Jefferson, OH. Paul’s legacy continues through his 11 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren.

Paul served his country honorably in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean and Vietnam War and was a life member of the Air Force Sergeants Association. He served as an aircraft mechanic and his first duty assignment was on the Berlin Airlift, Operation Vittles in 1948. He was member of Nisbet United Methodist Church where he served on various church committees. Paul was a longtime member of Rose Valley Sailing Club, the Audubon Society, Lycoming County Historical Society, Friends of the James V. Brown Library, Susquehanna Rock and Minerals Club and Korean War Veterans of Lycoming County.

In addition to his wife and parents, Paul was preceded in death by his siblings, Robert and Wilbur Blystone and Evelyn Graham and his grandson Matthew Blystone.
