Richard “Dick” R. Sanders

Richard “Dick” R. Sanders, 86, of Middleburg, entered into rest at 6:20 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2026, at Wellspan Evangelical Community Hospital, Lewisburg.

He was born April 3, 1940, in Flint, Michigan, a son of the late Floyd H. and Edna (Krape) Sanders. On December 1, 1993, he married the former Judith L. McClintock, who preceded him in death May 11, 2022.

Dick was a 1958 graduate of Jersey Shore High School.

He served in the Air Force from February 24, 1958, until his honorable discharge June 8, 1962.

Dick was owner and operator of Dick’s Texaco, Jersey Shore, Service Manager at Jack Lowry Dodge, Jersey Shore, Regional Police Officer and Detective in Jersey Shore, and retired as a Corrections Officer from the State Correctional Institute, Muncy.

He enjoyed playing cards with Jeremy Hummel and Dan Tice, playing golf, and hunting.

Surviving are six children and their spouses, Holly and Mark Knapp of Milton, Richard and Carol White of Williamsport, Randy and Valerie White of Hughesville, Joy and Michael Snook of Middleburg, Ed and Curtis Kidwell of Sacramento, California, and Colleen and Makay Campbell of Show Low, Arizona; one brother, Robert Sanders of Jersey Shore; 12 grandchildren and their spouses, Taylor (Daryl), Kalyn (Alex), Andrew (Emily), Jill (Jeffrey), Jeffrey, Erin, Dallan, Nevin, Colby (Casey), Christian (Meagan), Breanna (David), and Jordan; many great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death two brothers, Jack Sanders and Earl Sanders; and one sister, Marilyn Noltee.

A celebration of life will be held at the convenience of the family.
