William “Bill” Shoup, 93, of Lawrenceville, PA, passed away peacefully at The Green Home in Wellsboro, PA on Wednesday, June 3, 2026. Born in Oil City, PA, on May 5, 1933, he was raised in Marienville, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, Ira and Ruby (Kibbe) Shoup; his brother and sister-in-law, Mahlon and Esther Shoup; his sister-in-law, Nancy Shoup and his son, William Robert Shoup. Bill is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Beverly Jane (Corwin); and his children: Jane (Jeffrey) Wendel, Lisa (Steven) Horn, Carol (Shutt) and Dr. Daniel Guth, Scott and Susan (Allen) Shutt; his brother, John Shoup; his mother-in-law, Mildred Corwin; and many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind many family and friends whose friendship and support will be treasured. Bill will be remembered for his deep love of his dear wife Beverly, his unbelievable work ethic, and uncanny mechanical abilities. He graduated from Marienville High School, assisted his father with the family farm and hardware store and briefly attended Penn State University. He was a proud 59-year member of Local 542 of the International Union of Operating Engineers. Bill and Beverly traveled together from work site to work site along the eastern seaboard to help with major pipeline, road, bridge, and dam construction projects. For a time, he was a heavy equipment mechanic instructor at Williamsport Area Community College. He was a lifelong member of the National Rifle Association and shared his love of the outdoors, hunting, and firearms with many family members and friends. In keeping with Bill’s wishes, Kenyon Funeral Home in Elkland, PA, will provide cremation services. A celebration of life will be held later at the convenience of the family.
