Harry "Skip" Stackhouse, 79, of Montoursville, died Friday, July 24, 2026, at his home. Born December 14, 1946, in Muncy, he was the son of Harry Kiess Stackhouse, Sr. and Ethel E. (Burkholder) Stackhouse. Skip married Sue E. Spotts on May 4, 1985, and shared 41 years of marriage.
Skip was a veteran who served his country honorably by serving in the Army during the Vietnam War.
Skip and his wife Sue shared a wonderful life. Skip was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who was the happiest when he had tools in his hands helping family and neighbors. Skip was a master carpenter, builder and a true craftsman. He enjoyed gardening and after retiring volunteered at Rider Park, Indian Park, Alpine Club, Audubon Club, and Adopt – A – Highway program. He was a member of Christ Wesleyan Church of Milton and a volunteer on a large project in Sunbury for the church. Skip was loved by all and will be remembered for his kindness and selfless giving.
Skip is survived by his wife, Sue E. Stackhouse; daughter, Stephanie A. Carson, of Stroudsburg; son, Trevor L. Stackhouse, of Montoursville; grandchildren, Paige Bashnick, Ashley Rose Stackhouse, Tristan Stackhouse, Troy Carson; sister, Janet (Tim) Ragusa, of Midlothian, VA.
In addition to his parents, Skip was preceded in death by a son, Jared L. Stackhouse in 2004, and brother, Wayne Rishel.
A private funeral service will be held for the family. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Friday, July 31, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Love Hill / Sunanday Farm 478 Sunanday Lane Allenwood PA. Burial will follow at Montoursville Cemetery.
The family will provide the flowers and suggest memorial contributions to Christ Wesleyan Church in Milton, SPCA, River Valley Regional YMCA, or organization of personal choice.
