Iva M. McCoy, of Muncy, passed away Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at the age of 99, in her home surrounded by her loving family.
Born February 23, 1927, in Hughesville, she was the daughter of the late Clarence and Pearl (Vanbuskirk) Burkhart. Iva attended the Frantz School (a one room schoolhouse) and was a 1945 graduate of Hughesville High School. She was employed at GTE Sylvania in Montoursville for many years, but her greatest role in life was that of a loving mother and a source of strength, compassion, and support to those around her.
Faith was a cornerstone of Iva's life. She was a devoted member of Messiah Lutheran Church in Clarkstown. She volunteered at the Son Light House in Muncy and held many roles in the American Legion Auxiliary in Hughesville. Iva was an avid quilter, sharing her talents through the church and library. She delighted in creating beautiful handmade treasures for her family, each one a reflection of her love and thoughtfulness.
Iva was preceded in death by her first husband, Charlie Green, with whom she shared six children. She is survived by three daughters, Donna (Jerry) Fought of Hughesville, Eva (Jay) Lueck-Tittle of Muncy, and Vicki (Mike) Grausam of Hughesville. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Linda Green, and her two sons, Vernon and Walley Green.
On October 9, 1975, Iva married the second love of her life, Paul J. McCoy, and welcomed his four children into their family, Michael (Cathy) McCoy of Muncy, Shawn (Melanie) McCoy of Hughesville, Shane (Patricia) McCoy of Hughesville, and Kelley (Clay) DeWald of Millville.
Iva was blessed with a loving family that included numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a great-great-grandson, all of whom brought her immense joy and pride. She was the last surviving member of her immediate family and was preceded in death by her 11 brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 29, 2026, at Messiah Lutheran Church, 2041 Route 442 Hwy., Muncy, PA 17756, with Minister James Girven officiating. Burial will follow at Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. A visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, July 28, 2026, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 557 E. Water St., Hughesville.
