Joseph H. Dannelley, Jr., 83, of Cogan Station, died Friday, July 17, 2026, at The Gatehouse at Divine Providence. Born September 25, 1942, in Harford, MD, he was the son of the late Joseph H. Dannelley, Sr. and the late Bertha Jean (Moon) Dannelley. Joe married Frances A. Bratton on March 17, 1973, and shared 52 years of marriage prior to her passing on February 6, 2026.
Joe was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. He loved his grandchildren. He enjoyed visiting with family, camping, drinking coffee, and playing cards. He also enjoyed working on cars and trucks and operating his equipment. As one of Jehovah's Witnesses, he loved sharing his hope from the bible. Joe's favorite scripture was Psalm 145:16 – You will open your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing.
Joe was previously employed by several local sawmills and lumber yards. He retired in 2016 as the owner and operator of the Joseph H. Dannelley Logging.
Joe is survived by sons, Benjamin J. Dannelley, of Cogan Station, Abel N. Dannelley, of Butler; Seth T. (Cynthia) Dannelley, of Cogan Station; brothers, Roy (Ileen) Dannelley, of Columbia Crossroads, Raymond (Connie) Dannelley, of Williamsport; sisters, Bertha Winnie, of Cogan Station, Judy Shoemaker, of Hughesville, Carol (Weston) Green, of Valdosta, GA, Melody Dannelley, of Decatur, IN, Sherry (Frank) Kosak, of Wilkes Barre, Dawn (James) Staggert, of Cogan Station, Merry (Duane) Massey, of Maysville, WV, Bonny Dannelley, of Linden, Sunny Dannelley, of Williamsport; grandchildren, Logan, Kacie, and Hunter Dannelley.
In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by wife, Frances Ann (Bratton) Dannelley, and by a brother, Ronnie Dannelley.
A memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, August 1, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses 773 Cemetery Rd. Williamsport, with Elder Dennis Foote officiating. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family.
