June Elizabeth Waltz, 99, of Lycoming County passed away peacefully with family by her side, on July 28, 2026.
Born in 1927, in Lycoming County, she was the daughter of Walter and Merna Fessler Nicholas. June was preceded in death by her parents, brother Max, and her husband John E Waltz. June was a member of Lycoming Centre Presbyterian Church, Friends Church in Hughesville, and Madison Avenue Baptist Church in Tennessee. Having a strong unwavering faith, a true servant of God, June encouraged others to accept Jesus as their Lord and Saviour.
A graduate of Williamsport High School 1945, June enjoyed playing multiple instruments in the band and was an accomplished pianist and organist. June retired from the former Bell Telephone Company and enjoyed living on her Picture Rocks farm. She helped her husband work, show, and care for their Belgian horses. June was an excellent cook and enjoyed hosting family reunions and meals for family and friends. She loved gardening, reading, and caring for animals.
June is survived by three children, Larry (Cyndi) Burke, Marcy (Art) Delozier, Robert Burke, and a stepchild, Bonnie Hay. She has six grandchildren, eleven great-grandchildren and thirteen great-great-grandchildren. She loved them all dearly and enjoyed every minute she could spend with them. We are all so thankful for her love, endless prayers, support, and guidance.
Arrangements have been entrusted to McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, Hughesville.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, Aug 1, 2026, at Evangelical Friends Church, Hughesville. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11 a.m. The funeral service will begin at 11 a.m.
