Nancy Louise Phillips, 85, of Williamsport, passed away peacefully with family by her side on Thursday, July 16, 2026.
Born on March 10, 1941, in Williamsport, she was the daughter of the late Orlando and Florence (Rode) Brion. Nancy was the only daughter of the family and was also preceded in death by her beloved brothers, Thomas Brion, Robert Brion, and John "Jack" Brion.
Nancy shared a loving marriage with her husband, William E. Phillips, who preceded her in death.
A graduate of Williamsport High School, Nancy went on to attend nursing school, earning her license as a Licensed Practical Nurse. She devoted many years of compassionate care to the children of the community as a pediatric nurse at Divine Providence Hospital. She was a valued employee for many years at the Williamsport Sun Gazette.
Her faith was reflected in her willingness to serve others. Nancy faithfully cared for countless children while volunteering in the nursery at First Church in Williamsport, where generations of families came to know her gentle and nurturing heart.
Nancy had a true appreciation for life's simple treasures. She delighted in visiting auctions, estate sales, and yard sales, always hoping to uncover a unique find or hidden gem. She also possessed a remarkable sense of adventure and embraced every opportunity to travel. Whether helping a friend move across the country, experiencing the beauty of Hawaii and Alaska, or enjoying cruises to the islands, Nancy treasured every journey and the memories they created.
Above all, Nancy loved life. She found her greatest happiness in spending time with her family, caring for the animals she adored, and embracing each day with gratitude, kindness, and curiosity. Her warmth, compassion, and adventurous spirit will be remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Nancy is survived by her loving children, Mark D. Chrysler (Kim) of Harrisburg and Michelle Phillips (John) of Williamsport and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, brothers, and husband, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Ashley King Packer in 2022.
