Beverly R. Bower, 77, of Montgomery, died Friday, Aug. 7, 2026, at her daughter's home.
Born Feb. 5, 1949 in Muncy, she was the daughter of the late Marvin A. and Teresa (Day) Myers. Beverly married James W. Bower on March 30, 1974, and shared 47 years of marriage prior to his passing on Feb. 8, 2022.
Beverly was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid reader who enjoyed murder mysteries from many authors over the years. Her favorite author was Agatha Christie, reading her books over and over.
Beverly also enjoyed word search books and for the past 7 months spent hours coloring and still searching for "words."
Beverly graduated from Montgomery Area High School in 1967. She was employed at Divine Providence Hospital for 25 years in Central Supply, where she worked her way up to the director position.
She then continued to work as a purchasing agent at the Jersey Shore Hospital for 15 years before retiring in 2015.
Beverly is survived by her daughter, Deanna M. (Alan) Miller, of Cogan Station; grandchildren, Robert (Mary) Miller, of Montoursville, Curtis (Becky) Miller, of Troy, Samantha (Christopher) McIntyre, of Brunswick, Ga.; niece, Heather Myers; and four great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and her husband, James W. Bower, Beverly was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Harry Dean and Connie Myers.
A private family graveside service will be held at the Fairmount Cemetery of Forksville.
