Margaret Louise Kanouff

Margaret Louise Kanouff, affectionately known as "Peg," "Mountain Gram," and "Mom," went to be with Jesus peacefully at the Gatehouse in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, on August 17, 2026, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born on October 19, 1936, in Renovo, Pennsylvania, Peg was the beloved daughter of Donald and Elizabeth Naughton.

Peg was preceded in death by her loving husband, Richard "Roy" Kanouff; her cherished daughter, Sonia Taylor; her sons-in-law, Len Taylor and Sid Hernandez; and her brother, Donald Naughton.

She leaves behind a beautiful legacy of love and strength in her surviving children, James E. (Linda), Betsy Chambers (Rod), Donald L., Barbara Hernandez, and Troy E. (Linda). Her memory will also be cherished by her 13 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, and her sister, Barbara Martella (Bill). Each of them brought joy and pride to her life.

Peg and Roy shared many beautiful years together, raising six children and building a life filled with love, laughter, and countless memories. Her education at Saint Joseph's in Renovo, Pennsylvania, laid the foundation for a life of dedication and hard work. Throughout her life, Peg held various jobs and eventually retired from Bailey Controls. Retirement, however, did not keep her from staying busy. She returned to work as a campground manager, a role she truly enjoyed.

Peg's hobbies reflected her vibrant and independent spirit. She loved camping with the Stout family, playing the piano and bass, and bowling with her dear friends, Sonny and Louise Hill. Later in life, she found great enjoyment in coloring and keeping score for those playing Wordle.

A woman of strong faith, Peg was a regular attendee of Community Baptist Church. She knew where she was going when she left this earth and was ready to see Jesus and Dad. Her faith brought her comfort and peace, and she left this life with the assurance of what awaited her.

A service to celebrate Peg's life will be held on August 22, 2026, at 10 to 11 a.m. viewing 11 a.m. to Noon Service, at Community Baptist Church, located at 1853 PA-87, Montoursville, Pennsylvania.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the ladies at the Gatehouse for making Peg's final days as comfortable and peaceful as possible. They also extend their sincere thanks to the many friends and loved ones who reached out with love, calls, texts, and prayers during this difficult time.
