Mary Lee Ryder, 83, of Muncy, passed away on Sunday Aug. 9, 2026, at Muncy Place. Mary was born on Sunday, Dec. 13, 1942 in Coatesville, and was the daughter of the late Elmer N. Dirk and Mabel A. Gottschall. She was the wife of the late Galen T. Ryder, with whom she married on April 14, 1962 and shared 58 years of marriage.
She was a lifetime member of the Moreland Baptist Church and sang in the choir for 45 years. Mary worked as an LPN, but her greatest role was that of loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her three sons, Jeffrey S. (Judy) Ryder, of Muncy, Darryl L. (Cheryl) Ryder, of Telford, Michael E. (Susan) Ryder, of New Cumberland; a sister, Norma J. McEwen (Sherwood), of Davenport, Fla.; and a brother, Ronnie C. Dirk (Debbie), of Muncy; and by seven grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Mary was predeceased by one sister, Beverly J. Dirk.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home 557 E. Water Street, Hughesville, with Pastor Dave Guenin officiating. Burial will follow in Twin Hills Memorial Park, Muncy. Friends may call from 11:30 a.m. 1 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
