Merton A. Myers, 55, passed away on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at WeCare at the Green Home in Wellsboro.
Born January 21, 1971, he was a son of the late Elmer E. Myers and Lois J. (Bartlow) Myers.
Merton worked at Hope Enterprises and was a faithful member of St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church. As a child, he excelled as a runner in the Special Olympics, an accomplishment that brought his family great pride. Throughout his life, Merton enjoyed staying active and especially loved going for walks. He also enjoyed shopping and spending time listening to the radio.
Those who knew Merton will remember him as a loving person with a huge heart. His kind and caring nature was evident in the way he connected with those around him, and he will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
Surviving is a brother, Frank E. Myers of Jersey Shore; a sister, Kathy Myers; aunts, Gloria McCollin of Muncy, Beverly McFee, Patty Bartlow both of Hughesville, and Marion Lupold (Richard) of Blossburg; an uncle, William Bartlow; and a large extended family of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who will remember him fondly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Grant J. Myers, Shirley A. Riggle and her husband, George, and Charlotte Jean Smith.
A funeral service to honor Merton's life will be held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, August 19 at St. Paul-Calvary United Methodist Church, 1427 Memorial Ave., Williamsport with his Pastor Ann Runnels officiating. Burial will follow in Jersey Shore Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until the time of service Wednesday at church.
