Nellie M. (Saar) Wittman, 98, a long-time resident of Loyalsock Twp. passed away Sunday, August 16, 2026 at Edenbrook North.
She was born in Williamsport on November 15, 1927, a daughter of the late Theodore and Helena (Hinston) Johnson.
Nellie's first husband, Robert J. Saar died, December 30, 1967, her husband of 48 years, Arthur W. "Pappy" Wittman, died August 16, 2016.
She was a 1945 graduate of Williamsport High School and a graduate of the Williamsport School of Commerce.
Nellie was a member of St. Ann Catholic Church, she had been employed at the former GTE Sylvania in Montoursville in drafting and design, and also at the former Byer Ice Cream on Montgomery Pike.
Surviving are her son, Thomas Robert Saar of Loyalsock Twp.; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, a son, Timothy R. Saar, daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Saar and siblings, Doris Stark, Charles F. Jack, Ted, and George Dean Johnson all preceded her in death.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, August 20, 2026 at St. Ann Roman Catholic Church, 1305 Northway Rd., Williamsport, followed by burial at St. Boniface Cemetery.
There will be no visitation, at Nellie's request, please no flowers.
