Paul M. Taylor, 79, of Lock Haven, passed away peacefully on August 13, 2026, surrounded by his family.
Born July 25, 1947, in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Jack and Catherine Taylor. He was a graduate of Bald Eagle-Nittany High School and the former Lock Haven State Teachers College.
Paul was a respected umpire for over 60 years, officiating high school and collegiate baseball. He was also an avid Penn State football and wrestling fan, an accomplished bowler, and had assisted with the wrestling program at Lock Haven University. Professionally, Paul worked as a computer programmer for many years.
He was preceded in death by his devoted wife, Deanna, and his parents.
Paul is survived by his children, Paula Dauber; Scott Taylor and his wife, TL; and Christa Reese; his sister, Kathy Wise; nine grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
A casual celebration of Paul's life will be held Sunday, August 30, 2026, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Lock Haven University baseball field, 193 Havenview Drive, Lock Haven, with a service beginning at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome to wear their favorite Philadelphia Phillies attire and bring a lawn chair.
