Raymond "Ray" Kozen, 82, of Jersey Shore, went to be with the Lord on August 14, 2026, surrounded by his loving family.
Born March 17, 1944, in Trevorton, Ray was the son of the late Wallace G. Sr. and Isabelle (Cheatle) Kozen.
Ray was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He shared 47 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Jeannine P. (Sweitzer) Kozen, and together they built a life filled with love, family, memories, and countless adventures.
Ray will be deeply missed by his wife, Jeannine; his sons, Raymond Jr. (Danielle), Christopher (Tracey), and Shane (Jill); his sisters, Margaret Gottschall, Louise Brown, and Jean Blee; his son-in-law, Andrew Young, Sr.; six grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren, and six step-great-grandchildren. He is also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.
Ray was preceded in death by his infant son, Michael John Kozen; his daughter, Susan (Kozen) Young; three brothers; seven sisters; and a great-granddaughter.
A public viewing will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Rearick-Carpenter Funeral Home, 1002 Allegheny St., Jersey Shore. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, August 20, 2026, at St. James Lutheran Church, 3242 Middle Rd., Jersey Shore, followed by a graveside service at Jersey Shore Cemetery. A reception at St. James Lutheran Church will follow. Pastor Kerry Aucker will officiate.
