Richard H. Smith, age 85 of Arnot, PA, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026 at The Gatehouse in Williamsport, PA. Richard was born June 8, 1941 in Muncy, PA, a son of Roy and Dorothy (Myers) Smith. He was the husband of the late Shirley Smith, with whom he celebrated 50 years of marriage. He worked as a foreman at Bailey Controls. Richard enjoyed hunting, fishing, woodworking, and repairing electronics and other things.
Richard is survived by five children, Harry (Dana) Watkins of Holtwood, Timothy Watkins of Waverly, NY, Todd Watkins of Elkland, Dr. Landon (Anna) Smith of Dubach, LA and Amy (Michael) Reagan of Athens; his 11 grandchildren, Matthew Watkins, Jennifer Hlubny, Haylee Traver, Kylee Snyder, Nate Watkins, Dylan, Mason, Karigan and Barrett Smith, Justin and Jeffrey Reagan and 12 great-grandchildren, Faith, Matthew, and Michael Watkins, Kwynn and Macklin Hlubny, Jocelyn, Rylee, Millie Sue and Archer Traver, Nathan, Levi and Mason Snyder, and Michael Watkins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley, brothers, Rex Smith and Ned Smith, and sisters, Joyce Burkhart and Linda Eichenlaub.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Richard will be laid to rest at the Swedish Lutheran Cemetery in Arnot, PA. Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., 637 South Main Street, Mansfield, PA is assisting the family. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com.
