Thomas W. "Dutch" Watkins, Sr., 82, of Sugar Run, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre.
Thomas was born April 27, 1944, and is the son of the late Andrew and Gladys M. (Hoover) Watkins. He met Gloria E. Watkins at Weldon's, married on August 10, 1963, and shared 58 years of marriage before her passing in 2022. He retired from Youngs Industries of Muncy in 2001. Thomas enjoyed watching movies, fishing, hunting, canning vegetables from his garden, going to the casino with his wife, and spending time with his grandchildren. He would often go in for a coffee and the paper to see his friends at the Dushore Pump N' Pantry.
He is preceded in death by wife, Gloria E. (Babb) Watkins; and siblings, Richard (Jean) Watkins, Harry Watkins, and Charles Watkins.
Surviving are his children and grandchildren; a son, Thomas W. (Traci) Watkins, Jr. of New Albany, a daughter, Brenda E. (Steve) Beers of Sugar Run, a son, Michael E. (Sharon) Watkins of New Albany; 15 grandchildren, Heather, Shane, Nick, Michael Jr., Dakota, Kaitlin, Brandon, Matt, Sarah, Trinity, Colton, Andrew, Samarrah, Maryssa and Austin; 8 great-grandchildren, two great great-grandchildren; two brothers, James (Sandy) Watkins, and Edward (Lois) Watkins; a sister, Marie (John) Shoemaker; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Watkins, and Sherrill Watkins.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 28, 2026, at McCarty-Thomas Funeral Home, 119 Carpenter Street, Dushore, with Pastor Ron Dyer officiating. The viewing will be at 10 a.m., one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will follow at the Colley Cemetery.
